The time has come (long overdue!) for a new tent, but there's millions to choose from and we want to get one in the next few weeks, so I'm looking for suggestions that I can pinpoint and check out (prefer to see them in the flesh before buying!)

It'll be for me, hubby & 7 month old, and we want:

min 2 beds (one needs to be big enough for double airbed and travel cot), full head height throughout (hubby is 6'1"), easy to erect (with a baby!), sig

Bedroom size is more important than living area size, we've seen a few 6 and 8 berths but the 6 berths we seem to struggle on bedroom size and the 8 berths seem HUGE for 2 adults!!!

So I guess we're probably looking for a compact 8 berth with full head height!

Oh, and don't REALLY want to spend over £250!!!!

I also realise it's sale time so stock levels are low, but the chance of a bargain beckons before our next trip in September (that and the fact we were bursting out of our 5-man on the last trip!)

Anyone got any suggestions or am I going to struggle?

£250 is ample budget for your needs . Puts you in line for a number of tunnel tents such as the Vango Tigris 800, Khyam Ontario , Kampa Salconbe , Hi Gear Kalahari. Or perhaps something like a Hi Gear Corado , something from the Wynnster range or have a bash on ebay . Tomorrow will some more weekly offers from Gooutdoors . The week after BH specials .

The Ontario is larger - our 2007 tent measures 7.5m x 3.7m although the 2009 model is slightly smaller at 7.3m x 3.5m
The Seattle is 6.3m x 2.6m so I personally would say more of a 6 berth than an 8 based on our airbed sizes (75cm wide)
We can fit 8 comfortably in our Ontario 8.

Also the head height in the Ontario 8 is slightly higher at 225cm compared to 210cm in the Seattle.
