I'm thinking of buying a Vango Amazon 800 and would really like to hear from anyone who's got one or had experience of one. I really wanted a tent with a full canopy out the front so when it's raining (which it does every time we go camping!) we can sit with the door open and not have rain coming in the tent. I'm worried that with the Amazon's canopy having the gap at the sides that we won't be protected as much from the rain. Any advise or photos welcome.

Thanks

Hi,

We orderded a Amazon 800 and TBH we thought it would be too big and so changed it for the amazon 600. We've only tried it so far in the garden (first trip away is next week) but it seemed to fit 2 adults and 2 children just fine.

In our local Towsure they had one up, next to the Sunncamp family vario 600. The Sunncamp looked very good I have to say and might be worth a look based on your requirements?

We've got an 800 and it's massive - but takes up less room than our previous diablo-alike.

Middle bedroom is a lot larger that the 600. The tent is wide enough so that you could sit under the canopy in the rain and be dry - unless its coming directly at you from the side or front (though we're working out how to add sides...).
I like the way most of the front rolls up if you want to open the tent out, and the side doors are great for loading/unloading the car.

I think the 600 would be a squeeze with 6 people. The Amazon is discontinued for next year so you should get a bargain. My profile has some pictures of the Amazon, and I can send others if needed.

It's a great buy.
