I have a Sunncamp MX Tourer and have just split a pole. They are not a standard size 63 x 7.3, tried in vain to get hold of the Sunncamp spares department so had to go through their sales line. It seems they dont keep them in stock. Any ideas about what to do, I love the tent by the way but it will be my last Sunncamp product with that sort of poor after sales service.

Sunncamp universal pole kits here

are you sure that they are 7.3mm not 7.9?

I think you could replace 7.3 with 7.9 as long as you put a 7.3 pole end into a 7.9 ferrule , not vice versa.

they can be cut to the correct length with a junior hacksaw, masking tape around the pole before cutting helps stop splintering.
if the 7.3 pole is too loose in the 7.9 ferrule , try leaving the tape on so it fits snugly.

Thanks Debbie, yes they are 7.3. The MX Tourer is designed to be carried on a motorcycle and it as small poles to keep the weight and size down. I have to say I will never buy a Sunncamp tent again, they have the worst after sales service. The spares phone is never answered, when I got through to the head office I was told they dont keep spare poles, this for a £150 that is just a year old *********

Update, after 3 days of trying Sunncamp got back to me to say they could supply the pole. For a single section 63mm x 7.3 mm they wanted to charge me £18. The reason £15 is their minimum delivery charge (they do not use Royal Mail). In the end I have opted to buy a complete pole section at £26 so at least this way I will have some spares at home. This is my second Sunncamp tent and I have been pleased with both of them, but this episode as left a bad taste in my mouth and I shall not buy another Sunncamp tent.

Glad you got it sorted , but what stupidity , expecting you to be paying £15 delivery to send a £3 pole

Not surprised you're disapppointed in their response, very poor service.

Thats just complete madness! Only silver lining is that you have a replacement and spares.
