I have used mine after the wind broke my new tent in a couple of minutes (not saying what it was but it should NOT have broken) and it was perfect and still as new the next morning. There is nothing to break is there. If it gets flattened, which it never did, it just pops up again as the gust subsides. I felt really secure, as I knew it would all be ok. They are so well made, all the normal manufacturers should have a look at how it should be done. I spent quite a lot of time looking at pitched tents a couple of weeks ago, and decided all but two were badly designed. Loads of poles to take the strain, and then the guy lines are stitched to a small piece of fabric rather than the pole that would spread the strain over a much larger area of stitching. The thickest webbing I have ever seen on a tent, the strongest velcro type tape also. I take it as my spare tent when ever possible. It's a bit on the small side, but for one or two night camps it would be great. My biggest problem is I have a back problem and can't spend too much time bent down, other than that it's perfect.
Re windy weather. There was an outwell tent with about sixteen guy and pegging down points on the end panel, (I did count them but not now exactly sure) and an almost identical shape tent of a lesser manufacturer with just three, two guys and one pegging down point in the middle. I know which I would want to sleep in.
I did use just the inner last year on the beach on a windy day, and even then it was great. No guy lines at all, just the four corner pegs.

haha RAF48 - read your post, got my Peridot out of the shed (husband bought it for me for my birthday in '08) and as a consequence of this post it is now up in the garden for me and daughter to garden camp tonight! Looks great, and solid, will go in it now to read my book and have a glass of wine as it's cocktail hour.
Geoffheritage, (a fellow scouser I see!) I shall report back tomorrow as fairly windy here and despite sunshine earlier, now looks like rain.
I also bought my Peridot for £35 post-traumatic pole stress last year on a girls' camping trip to Snowdonia - poles split!

Hope you had a great night in the garden. I'm a bit sad now, as I have neither garden or wine. I suppose we should not be too supprised about the quality, as they were an expensive tent, I believe figures of £140 have been mentioned. I'm just thinking if I should strip the bed and use my sleeping bag instead, perhaps this may help. I'm back to no funds again at the moment, (car MOT failed) so even though I have the time to go camping, I can't afford the pitch. Never mind, I'm sure I will get a couple more short trips before it's too cold to go. I managed most of October last year, but won't do EHU. I'll just have to get some stuff on ebay to fund it, and the space will come in handy. I'm trying to force myself to buy one of those £130 ex American army three piece sleeping (systems) bags, at the moment I'm waiting to see how my old big bag works inside my new BIGGER XL bag, and hope that will be warm enough. I did buy (treat) myself to a good boogie board three weeks ago, but it's been all westerlies here so no waves. (Bet there's been plenty your side) So frustrating, too much off shore wind to kayak, but no waves either. I waste money at an alarming rate, so can't really complain at having none left to go camping. Lifes great really, I'm one of the lucky ones compaired to most out there. Regards Bob

Morning Bob, good to read your post - boogie board hey? You must be one of those surfer dudes that hangs out in Newquay, do you plan to snow board as well !
Well...sadly the trip to the garden did not quite go as planned. We stayed in there all night from when it went up (around 5pm) until 1.30am. All was fine, we were incredibly warm, I have never been in a tent that was so much like (as my daughter said) a 'sultana' (she meant sauna!) We were taking all our layers off and kicking off blankets. All good so far.
Around 1.30, I woke up and the corner by my daughter had just buckled! The whole thing started folding in like some horrible big spider so I woke her up and we grabbed the bedding and off to suburban beds!
It wasn't terribly windy, we were sheltered and so I suspect that it is either 1) bad pitching or 2) a leak - 2) being the least likely!!
I shall go out to inspect later, but whilst it was up, what a brilliant tent!! Not used to ducking quite so low though.
Bob like you I plan to do a few more weekenders afore the frost set in. It is of course much warmer here in the South but not as beautiful as the north IMHO! I need to replace my Coleman Hampton after only 5 uses the zip has completely broke but they will refund. I am also looking at some fat airics for my later-in-the year purchases.

Sorry to hear the tent had problems. Sadly I would think it was loss of air, as they stand up to any amount of wind with no problems, and it's not really possible to pitch them wrong. I was forgetting that you now live in a satellite city and not the original one, hence the comment about the waves. Could be the valve was not tight enough, fingers crossed for you. I'm originally from St Ives, so the surf is in me. Infact anything to do with water.

Hello Bob, I took the flysheet off and then repumped it - I am certain it was the way I had pitched it as it has now been fine for a few hours sans outer!! So, I may 'the one' who can't pitch a very easy to pitch inflatable tent.
Although I live in London, it is the water of the Mersey that flows through my blood and will till the day I die!! Not surfing, sailing and travelling for us Scousers!

I have taken my peridot out camping a few times now and i have to sy its my best buy ever. I use it as a bedroom pod and pich it up against my Quechua base which is used as a living area. Needless to say with the combination of a pop up and inflatable tent, i get alot of intrest from other campers!
But doing all the setting up of camp due to being on my own with my daughter (well her help is more of a hindrance iykwim) means this combo works really well for me and i can be set up in minutes. I would have no worries about the peridot in poor weather - the pop up however i might take down.
if anyone is still looking for a peridot there are a few on ebay at good prices at the mo....
I love the idea of these tents, and nearly bought one last year, but just one thing put me off - the windows are obviously mesh rather than PVC, but in all the photo's I looked at I couldn't see any outside covers over the windows. If the windows haven't got covers, surely if it rains, everything in the porch will get wet, as the rain will just penetrate the mesh windows.
Can someone tell me whether there are any covers over the windows please?
Yes the windows are clear plastic with air vents above also air vent at rear of tent.Must say some of the pictures do make it look as if the windoxs are mesh but I can assure you they are not also flysheet seems very substantial.
JK98 I remember you being the very first to welcome me to this site I think perhaps 18 months ago? hello!!
This is a really good quality tent (read my hapless posts above, sneer then buy one!)
I spent most of Sunday pm in it reading and having a snooze on the air bed - I took the cover off and just left the inflatable spider tube thiny up - I gazed around and had a good look. It is really well finished.
I was most disappointed when husband and child reappeared to interrrupt my afternoon in the nylon igoo!

The only problem I can foresee is smuggling this tent into the house without hubby finding out that I've bought yet another tent, or alternatively finding the money to pay a good divorce lawyer I want one of these tents
