I had finally after hours of surfing decided to buy a Gelert Horizon 6 tent after reading the excellent reviews on this site however I have now confused myself by spending too much time surfing tents again after reading recommendations on forums on this site from the lovely helpful seasoned campers
I have seen the following tents & cannot decide which one to choose. It is for myself, my 8yr old son & my friend (possibly small person bringing a friend) as they all have what I'm looking for, roomy bedrooms, plenty of living space, sig & stands up to wind/rain
Gelert Horizon 6 - Lichfield Comanche 8 - Hi Gear Kalahari 8 - Hi Gear Zenobia 6 -Coleman Modulus X7 Modular Dome
Any advice/help would be very much appreciated

We recently bought the Hi Gear Zenobia 6 and we love it!!
We are a family of two adults & two kids age 10 & 14.
We had are first camping trip last weekend (BH) and we had plenty of room! Plenty of room for another person, if only we had room in the car (which we didn't have! lol)The tent also stood upto lots of rain and pretty strong winds! We all felt very secure inside it.
We had also looked and looked and looked again at tents and began to feel really overwhelmed at the choice!
In the end we visited Go Outdoors to see some in the flesh and it was the best thing we ever did. Origionally, we'd intended to buy a Halfords starter pack but after seeing tents up instore I'm so glad we didn't!
As you probably know...From what has been said on this site the Gelert Horizon 6 is the exact same as the Zenobia. We purchased a Gelert Horizon 6 footprint on Ebay and our tent from Amazon (the seller on there Go Outdoors) tent was £144 with p&p of just short of £6....Only bought online though as the store was out of stock and didn't know when they were getting more in.
As for the other tents....I can't comment as I'm not familiar with them.
As far as I'm concerned the Zenobia is perfect for us
Oooo meant to add that onsite we saw another Zenobia (had a good nosey at how it was pitched!). Next day a Gelert Horizon also appeared..So both popular <{:)0x
Many thanks for that, as a newbie the choice is very overwhelming & the more you look the more confusing it gets! We went to Kirkcudbright at the end of Aug in an argos pro-action hyperdome tent, which not being a complete unit was very cold, rained in (not excessively) however in it's defence it did stay up in the tale end of hurricane bill. It hasn't put us off camping though hence looking for a roomy tent with sig.
If small person wants to bring a friend the next surf will be for a roof box as like you no room in the car! Yes have seen re the Gelert Horizon 6 being the exact same as the Zenobia however on surfing the Zenobia is much cheaper & if the Gelert Horizon footprint, carpet & canopy fit that's a bonus.
Many thanks

Thanks for that, so much choice these days, will narrow down from the great reviews & advice on here then go & view in the flesh so to speak instead of my previous purchase which was an on-line that's looks a good tent red wine purchase from argos lol
Was a try it & see if my son would enjoy camping, he loves it & so do I, had a fab time despite the weather, can't wait to go again
Thank goodness the red wine wine found me this excellent site, spent hours on here surfing tents & campsites thanks to the lovely folks on here
Hi, we've got a Horizon 6. The poles are not very good and I'm going to replace some. Its been suggested mine are a bad batch as others don't seem to have problems. Good tent though, been out in really bad winds last night and survived without a crack.

Thanks pally, after hours/days of surfing have finally managed to get an Horizon 6 2008 model for £149.99, other shops stated sold out for this season so must be popular. Also going to invest in the canopy/carpet & footprint as these seem to be a must have on the reviews.
Can't wait to try it out as now got the camping bug
