Please, please, please help by advising me..if I were to purchase a tent, which one of these would you buy. Outwell Florida or Royal Bordeaux 6xl zg? I haven't camped before and with holidays booked for next year, I need to get purchasing. I suffer from being a bit claustrophobic (hence the larger tent wanted) so would like peoples opinions before spending. I did consider this to be a large amount of money and still do with a young family. The only thing that makes it seem better is that someone advised if you keep the tent for 5 years and go away 4 times per year, it works out a £25 per time!! Sounds better like that!

Hi,
You will have the feeling of space if you go for the Outwell Florida, its a really spacious tent with a nice big front canopy. And plenty of living space,a dressing/wardrobe area and inners that you can stand up in.

Welcome to UKCS by the way.....

Thank you for your reply sunvalleysue, I appreciate it. I have since purchased the Outwell Florida for £449, this is the cheapest I've seen it since looking from May. All I need advise wise now is which campsites people recommend? Any ideas? The only one I have been to and LOVE is Clippesby in Norfolk. Its a really good site but thinking I may venture to Cornwall next year for a week or so?

An excited camper!!

Hi Stacey,

you have got a nice tent there at an excellent price.

As regards sites, the world is your lobster.
Have a look at the campsite search on here.It all depends on what you want from a site, quiet, coastal, countryside, plenty fro the kids to do,entertainment, etc etc.
Make a list of your must have requirements and then compile a short list in the area's you want to camp.
Remember, more bells and whistles a site has the bigger the site fees.

In reply to your Florida or Bordeaux XL question, if you are looking for a tent which compares to the Bordeaux XL you need to be looking at the Vermont L or XL, it has the enclosed kitchen area like the bordeaux XL, and is similar in size and pod arrangement and both will easily fit on a C&CC site pitch. However if you are looking specifically at these two tents i would go for the Florida every time. Check out the reviews on the Bordeaux and the problems lots of people seem to have with the poles bending under the weight of the tent. its a lovely looking tent but this put us off and we went for the Outwell vermont XL.  Hope this helps.
