Hi I have just purchased a Coleman Modulus X4.   I had a go at errecting it in the garden, and it came as noe surprise from reviews on this site that the instructions are not the best.

After one or two flase starts I managed to get the tent up, but then found a spare bit, which is a short pole for the living area roof.    I spent the next 45 mins trying to get this pole in.

Can anyone help with this by giving me a pointer on how to manage this?

thanks

;-)

1. presuming that the living area is all erect, slide the roof pole over the top of the sleeping pod first, then slide it through the roof sleeve. at each end of thr roof there is a small velcro flap. put the roof pole in both of these. the pole is now in place

2. there is a strap that needs to be connected now. the trick to raising the roof is, make sure the strap is pulled tighter and smaller than the length of the roof. push the  roof pole up "GENTLY" and clip the 2 ends of the retaining strap together.

3.  viola

hope this helps

steve

You dont need to use the middle roof pole if you dont want to. Its just an ancillary which is more useful for hanging things on!.

You will find some metal pins on rings on each end, and some things to slide the pole through (this is on the inside)

Really easy to do :-)

I agree on the instructions being the best part of useless. Luckily ive had lots of experience with the Coleman eXponent range of tents, so this was of little suprise to me. What does make me giggle, is that the ladies who own this tent are a little on the short side, and have NO chance of reaching the top!
