We've decided to buy a Vango Amazon after doing alot of research. The new one for 2010 looks fantastic as it finally has the full canapy at the front rather than a half open one, which was the only thing putting us off. I've only seen it in the 600 version and wondered if anyone knows if Vango are bringing out the new one in the 800 version. We are a family of two adults, one nine year old boy, a two year old girl and a baby of 8 months...there's also a 17 year old but she'll probably pitch her own tent this year! Does anyone have any experience with the 600 version and do they think it will be too small for us? As the 2010 model has the enlosed sides to the sun canapy we will probably keep all our cooking equipment out there now so it will free up more room in the living area. We welcome any comments.

The Amazon 800 for 2010 is know more.... The new 600 looks great and has the same beroom layout as the 2009 model with a 4 berth inner with a curtain to make it into 2 x 2 berths and a 2 berth inner that can be remove so plent of room.
I would wait to see the new Vango Maritsa 700 Tent which looks even better as it has a front canopy with a door on it that can be rolled back...The bedrooms are a little bit wider and the overall floor space is similar to the Amazon 600.
I hope this helps. Where are you and is there a good tent retailer near to you. If there is one that had the Amazon last year its a good bet they will have the Amazon and possible the Maritsa 700 on show.

Ps. Im not a big fan of the old sage colour as i find it to light first thing in the morning. I would stick to the Blue colour way as its the best of both world.

Wow. Looks like the new 600 is longer than the old 800!
We've the 800 for us four (kids 2 & 4). Plenty of room - we thought the 600 would be a little cramped (we'd spent a very wet week camping in a smaller dome-style tent).
BTW - I've had some great customer service from the Tent Factory.
We have the 600 and find it "snug" for 4 of us, no problems with the living area, plenty of space there, just the (allegedly 2 berth) outer 2 bedrooms are rather cramped once a double mattress is in there, my daughters (12 & 18) sleep on a double in the centre bedroom & my wife & I get to sleep separately in the outer rooms, apparently the girls need the extra space for make-up, etc. :-( I would recommend seeing one in the flesh before buying just to make sure it really is big enough for your needs.
Also, another problem you will encounter is the tent's pitching area, you might well struggle at some sites, especially if you want electric, to get your tent on their pitches, something which cost us our preferred site in Dorset last year!
Lastly, the "Full Canopy" ........ first time out in mine, I was sat chilling with a beer, like you do, and I got to wondering why the canopy did not run all the way down to the ground, but after a couple of days I got my answer, thank god for delta pegs! The front of my tent was like a giant Air Scoop in all but the lightest of wind, so I would not like to imagine what the "Full Canopy" will be like in a decent gust, I don't doubt the strength of the tent, just the ability of the pegs to keep it in place.
Other than the above we have no complaints whatsoever, we love the tent, just be aware of the pitfalls/disadvantages of owning such a huge beast :-)

Spiny.
