The sleeping inner for a bell tent is rather steep, also it takes up so much room during the day.So After a bit of thinking I have decided to make deviders for the children. they will clip onto the centre pole and onto the top of the wall. I made a prototype in the autumn and was pleased with the result. I think I will glamp them up with some funky sewing and matching bunting for the door. Ohh I can feel the call of the sewing machine. what do people think?

Great idea. Not got a Bell Tent.... yet! But when I do, if I do, wouldn't want an inner, like you say, too dear, takes too much living space up, and for me, defeats the object of a Bell Tent, the round space is what I want. I wouldn't be able to make the dividers though, don't do sewing. Good luck with your project.
I am going to go down the flat sheet road as they are wide enough. they need to be a minimum of 250 cm. White flat sheets decorated with bunting going down the edge. and some matching to go round the door. My O.H. may not like it but I am the one making it!

now i wondered about splitting the inner tent by way of attatching a sheet, that way i could make more bedrooms!,
i am looking at pushing the inner to one side during the day, therefore giving it feeling of more space, and also allowing it to feel a bit more snug in the evenings.

Thats exactly what I mean. All that space during the day but a little privacy at night. It got the thumbs up from the children while I was fiddling around with old sheets and string.(they are going to be made to a much higher spec for the real thing).
I did this last year, as I could not afford an inner. It made life easier having a bit of tent not open to prying eyes when the doors are open, as the whole tent is on show. I did no stitching, just used a few of clamp springs. I did use some spare pole sections to hold the diagonal roof section from sagging to much. I now have an inner tent which I have used a couple of times, and also found that having the inner helps to keep the tent warm, as the heater only has to warm half the tent. Even with an inner, it only take a few seconds to tidy the bedding to one area, and drop the inner down during the day.

I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
