You certainly picked a good weekend for it! Hope you found the pump in the end! Please let us know what that 13 ride is like! Im a bit of a kid when it comes to rides too but couldnt go on any last year for being pregnant, now the little lad's here I'll be back on em!!
Absolute total waste of money Alton Towers is AND what's with the £5 parking ?!?!?!? totaly disgusting.
We spent nearly 8 hours there and managed to get on 4 rides - yes only 4, and 3 of those stopped for various reason whilst my lot were queuing.
We had to walk across the gardens because the Skyride broke down for over an hour - with people stuck on it.
Came out at about 7pm and were told it was a half hour queue for the monorail and carpark was only a 15min walk. We walked, and walked and walked and 35mins later we couldn't find any signs for car park J so along with other families were left wandering about trying to find our way and with no one to ask.
I'm in the middle of writting a letter of complaint and have no plans to ever go back again.
Hope you had a better time than us but more importantly enjoyed your weekend camping

Sounds like your experience was exactly the same as ours! I was disgusted at how disorganised it was. We queued for an hour to park in car park J like you. We got the monorail there luckily but the wait was half hour on the way back so we walked and then sat in the queue to get out for another hour. And yes we had to pay £5 for the privilege fo that. And lots of the rides were out of action at various times too. I am not even going to bother writing to them but will vote with my feet and never return as all the other Theme Parks i have been to have been well managed. We only picked it for the 13 ride cos my daughter was 14 on that day and wanted to go on it while still 13. We were going to go the Thorpe Park.
Think i might just put a post on life in General to see just how many people have actually been on the 13 ride...
So pleased we went to Alton Towers on sunday! When we first got there the signs were saying that 13 was closed, we were gutted! But they managed to get it open on the afternoon, the queue was 2hrs long for it! and if i had waited that long to ride it i would of been soooo dissappointed, but we went in the single rider queue and waited 5 mins if that to get on it (anyone going i wud def go in single rider queue for 13 because the single rider queue meets up with fast track queue lol) i dont know what the problems are that they have been having with 13 but they were not putting anyone in the last 2 carriages. Anyway the ride itself was 'ok' certainly not worth queing 2hrs for tho!! the best bit is when it drops and u go backwards.
I also think its shocking to pay £5 parking, but all in in all we had a great day and didnt queue for any length of time as we dont mind going in the single rider queue, the longest single rider queues are on Air, Nemesis and Rita we waited about 15 mins to get on these. I still love Oblivion, i walked up the single rider queue, no one in it at all i got straight on lol, def one of my faves, 13 doesnt even come in same league as Oblivion or Rita.
Oh and we bumped into Katie Price and Alex how exciting.....not lol, just wish my phone hadnt of been flat, could of sold a pic of Alex feeling her up at the exit of the Willy Wonka ride lol
Cant wait to go to Thorpe next as i want to go on Saw, that looks great!

aw i was hoping Saw was going to be good, mind u its got to be an improvement on 13
As for the merlin passes it was not worth us getting them this year, as we are only going to 2 theme parks this year, but they are definitely worth it.

Oh by the way, didnt find the pump!! Had to get new one from camp shop, need not of bothered though, we now need new airbeds! We used them last year and they were fine, so didnt bother to check them before we went, they were all flat after a couple of hours! Not a happy bunny, new airbeds are now on my wanted list grrrrrrr
