Hi all

I'm Joy and new to the site. My husband and I have just purchased a vango Maritsa 700 which we found fab. However we had to pack up when it was a little wet - do we have to pitch it back up to dry before we go again in the summer or can we just drape it in the garden?

We are new to this (if you can't tell lol) help please!

cheers Joy

Hi, Joy. Welcome. We just drape ours elegantly over the rotary drier in the garden!! Doesn't take long if it's not raining. If you can take the bedroom inner out, all the better.

Hi and welcome to UKCS.

Any tent whatever material must be bone dry before you pack it away,or you risk getting mildew which is suicidal for a tent.

If you can erect it in your garden till dry.If you don't have the space then hang over a washing line or where ever you can till its dry.

It doesn't really matter how you dry, just make sure its 100% dry before you fold it away(and that includes any wet guy ropes as well)

We lay our large tent out in the garden and then put garden chairs inside and open the doors to allow air to flow through and dry the tent on the inside as well as the outside. Don't leave it many days to do this once you get back - it doesn't take mildew long to take hold. Its best if you can pitch it, but not essential. Just keep an eye on it in case the wind picks up. It won't take long.

If its raining when we get home, we spread it out and do the same in the conservatory, moving it and the chairs around until the whole thing is dry. A garage is an alternative if you cover the floor and any sharp objects.

Helen

DRY DRY DRY!!!

A must, as mention for every material.

I have a few hooks in the garage and also in the loft for both drying and airing, turning it every few days.

Drip drip drop little april showers!!!
