Hi to all on site.
I am looking for some advice on the Kampa Saunton 5, We only get away 2/3 weekends a year and have been using our Khyam 200 Tourer, But now we need something bigger as the grand kids (2 of them) would like to come with us.
I was going to get a bigger Khyam as i found it very easy to manage. We went to our local camping store at Canvey only to find that they no longer stocked Khyam tents.
Well to cut it short we got talking to a couple of people in the store that had bought a Kampa 5 a couple months ago and they rated it really well, so much so that they invited us around to show us how easy it was to use.
So this morning of we went, now i thought i was pretty quick putting my Khyam up but with this guy i would still be getting out of the starting blocks, What i thought was going to be a long job ended ups as a matter of minutes.
Now I'm torn, Do i go with a bigger Khyam or a Kampa Saunton 5. Cost wise the Kampa was a tad under £200 and has a 4000 HH rating, Cost of a new Khyam is going to be much more.
Bearing in mind we only get out a few weekends a year, maybe a couple more now the kids want join us. Do i stick with the brand i know or try something different, Any good or bad points for the Kampa would be nice to know.

The Kampa tents are very good quality and well designed. We have the Kampa Bude 4, which is full of lovely features often only found in bigger, more expensive tents. The Bude wouldn't be big enough for you, but the Saunton 5 would be a good size.
The popular alternatives would be the Outwell Virginia 5 (3000HH with a lot more windows) sold by Yeoman's Outdoors at £160 or Vango's Icarus 500 (which is very similar to the Saunton, but has Vango's TBSII internal strapping system that reduces fibreglass poles flexing so bad in windy weather). Unfortunately it has a lower 2000HH, albeit sufficient for general British weather (around £130). The Icarus 500 sold out fast last year and is selling fast again this year. The Virginia is also proving popular.
You may want to have a look at the reviews on this site for these tents and if you can take a look at them in person.
Thanks Helen, Went out and had a good look around yesterday at different brands, So many to choose from. Decided to go with the Kampa and will be picking it up on Wednesday.
