My new Outwell seemed to get frosty windows, just at the front, after it's first trip out. I washed them with a strong solution of fairy liquid and they have been fine ever since.

Don't get any fairy liquid onto your tent fabric whatever you do, it does something to the waterproofing....

Whatever you do I would refrain from using any kind of detergents on your tent.
I think most tent windows are a bit misty once you first pitch them after being packed.Usually they clear themselves in a short while.------------- Sue & Phil

Now you tell me
I didn't swoosh water all over it...just a damp cloth on the plastic windows and then polished them up with a dry cloth

Soapy water makes that kind of plastic turn yellow and hard.Like push chair covers on prams.
I use a wet piece of kitchen roll just to remove the dirt spots.
Oil will rot fabric in time.

No detergents or oil, please!
How old is the tent? UV exposure can cloud the windows over time and of course this is non-reversible. How's the flysheet holding up generally?

A little tip my window cleaner gave me was to use distilled water, there are no micro organisms in it so leaves no marks.------------- Brian

You can get a cleaner from Halfords that is made for to clean the plastic rear windows that a lot of soft top cars have, it work a treat I have used it on our outwell it brings them up like new also have used Mer car polish this seems to work as well. Keep both these off the fabric, happy clear viewing viewing
