Is it for 4 of you? If so have a look for a 6man tent to give you the room to store your stuff too. What are you using it for? Is it 4 adults or 2 adults and kids? Holidays for a week or longer or just weekends away?

I would most definitely go for the Icarus 600, you can stand up in it its easy to put up its a quality piece of kit. I know it's a 6man tent but believe me that all manufacturers seem to base their figures on humans that are 3ft 6, but I assure you that all of the extra space will be used very little if any will be saved.

thanks or coming back to me so soon, weekends away initially and perhaps may be longer, I will be with one dog, my wife and son and perhaps one other person.
Budget wise Im quite open as its quality I want and ease of erection, with the all the trimmings would be nice
hope to here from you guys soon
Kind Regards and a very big thank you to all who reply
Vango Icarus 600 with a canopy would be ideal IMHO. But I'm biassed as I have one! Try a search on the Tent Review page, pop in your requirements and you will get lots of reviews. Nip to a tent shop at some stage too or an exhibition and have a look at some tents already erected. then come back on here and ask more questions!

Hi, new to camping too and got great advice from the folks on here. There are 3 of us, 2 adults and 1 6yr old and this w/e bought Vango Icarus 500 with canopy from Go Outdoors. Great deal at moment. Lots of space and I have been told its easy to put up. Can't confirm yet cos it was so windy on Sunday we postponed our 1st practice.

4 man ? Check
Standing height ? Check
Easy to pitch? Check
Best quality? Check
Budget not a problem? Good news lol
See the tent in my profile pic. Not much change from €3000 but you did ask for the best :)
Outwell Nevada M is fab. Really a 5 berth but that would be a squeeze - perfect for 3/4. Loads of room to stand up and move about without falling over each and some really useful features.
Really easy to pitch too with just 3 poles. My 2 kids (9&10) and I have it fully erected and pegged in less than half an hour.
Best bet though is to get yourself somewhere like Go Outdoors and have a walk round some tents.
Happy camping! :o)
