Will the 2010 version of the extension fit our 2009 model tent?

Cheers.

I recently contacted Vango and asked whether the 2010 Tunnel Extension and/or the Footprint were compatible to the 2009 version and was advised that they are.

I have recently bought both, but not yet used them, so I hope that the advice from Vango is correct.

Thanks.

I would be interested in hearing whether you have any problems, or otherwise.

We spent a good weekend on Anglesey at the weekend, but in wet weather we thought we would be glad of a little more space.

If you can confirm that all is well with your extension , that would be great.

Certainly will, I will be using them on a trip to Devon w/c 14/8/10, although I hope to have a test pitch this weekend.

Sorry I have not got back to you earlier, but due to the poor weather I was not able to do a test pitch before my Devon trip.

Having now used my tunnel extension on my Tigris 600, I can report that it did exactly what I hoped that it would. I had no problems errecting it, although I believe that it would be almost impossible to do this by yourself and very awkward for 2, but with 3 people (2 holding the poles - 1 on either side, and the third pegging out) it went up without too much of a hitch. I was not able to get a tight fit to the tent side and with much rain, water ran down the tent and dripped into the extension, this was not too much of a problem though because I did not use a groundsheet so the rain just soaked away (fortunately the site drained very well).

All in all, I am glad that I bought this extension and found it most useful for keeping gear out of the rain, but also out of my tents living area.

Yes

I have a Tigris 400 and use the Vango premium extension on the front of the tent. The Tunnel extension also fits.

I should really say "fits" in inverted commas because I found (like others on this site)that it's almost impossible to get a perfect close fit of the extension to the tent. That didn't really cause us a problem but you need to be aware that there will be a gap at the point where the extension meets the door area of the tent - a gap at the sides I mean - not overhead !

I haven't yet found a way to make the extension feel like a true part of the tent - but it works well none the less - and certainly adds heaps of room. The premium extension almost doubles the living area of the Tigris 400.

I did a review of the Premium Extension in the reviews section and the first image in the set is of the extension fitted to my Tigris 400.

Hope that helps
