I'd never heard of it but I do love the shape of the windows on the front canopy. What's the price point on it? It may be that it's too expensive for what it is and there's a more obvious alternative canvas tent that folks are buying instead.
We have the Vango Zanzibar 600 which is a discontinued Vango polycotton tent, it is a lovely tent, if the Salina is as good as this you cant go far wrong. We did look at this tent but decided the size may restrict us on sites.
Yeah that is a bummer - we looked at the zanzibar when we went for our killington - you have a great tent there. Are the dimensions similar to the amazon?
We bought the Vango Salina 600 about 6 weeks ago from a camping show in Wokingham. We paid £550 for the tent + £30 for the foot print and £69 for the matching carpet. I was originally looking at the Amazon 600 and the Outwell Vermont but once I walked into the Salina we decided to buy due to how much cooler the poly cotton is.We are moving back to Australia so the temperature of the tent was a major factor in our purchasing decision.
We have a two young boys 4 and 1, there is plenty of room in all 3 bedrooms. I have just returned from our first adventure in the Vango and I can honestly say you will not get a better test than the weather we had for 6 nights in Devon. It was very windy and rainy all week but the tent did not move!! Our friends who were staying in a holiday park down the road who don’t camp have now changed their minds about camping since they checked our tent out.
Me and my wife put the tent up in 30 min and it took about the same time to pack it up with a 1 year old screaming in the background for moral support. The overall weight of the tent is very heavy but I don’t believe this is a downside, I would say all Polly cotton tents of this size would be the same weight. The only very slight negative I would say about the salina is I would like the porch to be slightly bigger but compared to having to buy a extra porch like on the outwell tents I will stick to the Salina with a portable Gazebo out the front.
Hope this helps!!

I have just bought a Vango Salina 600 and yes it is a big tent. we bought it at an exhibition as a show model and i did attract alot of attention when we where taking it down! Many people did look on thinking that is a big tent and how are they going to get it down? we did and it is so simple to do, if you are systematic on packing it up. pitching the tent is also easy, once you have put it up first. there is a trick to it though.
first lay out the tent were you want it and pin the back end down as in the video.
Then feed the poles through the top when on the ground
now, the important bit. ensure that the first pole from the back is over the back line of the tent, otherwise you will not locate the keys and it will not stand up. then pull the rest of the poles up to it together then holding all of them simply pull the tent out like a consetina. sounds complex but it is really easy to do and quick. you just have to remember that the back of the tent needs to overlay the end line on the floor and you have it sorted.
What you end up with is a really rigid tent that gets alot of looks and comments, as its stylish and roomy
Yes linny2008 it is excatly the same size as last years amazon 600, we downsized from a cabanon espace, due to weight and trailer space, the zanzibar weighs 39 kg in 2 bags as opposed to 85 ish kg over 4 bags!!!. We brought it in may clearance stock from J&R leisure for 400 pounds. Have ysed it twice so far and have been very pleased, off to the inside park, dorset, tomorrow!!
The vango polycottons seem to be very good and can be found far cheaper than the outwells...

I was very lucky to get mine for little les than 300 pounds at nearlynewtents at e-bay. We live in Spain and was not too confident about buying at the internet. But all was great. Mine is the smaller version, the Salina 400. But I agree it takes other campers attention. In my case, the head of the campsite came by and asked us if he could take some pictures for their next years catalogue. : )
Polycotton is great in Spain since it gets really hot here. The light color also helps.
If I could improve it I would add some neat features as the outwell luminous pegs and luminous guylines as the ones I have in my Outwell Oklahoma daytent. Also nice would be a guideline to hang light inside the tent..
