i have a montana 12 that i brought a few years ago. could anyone help me but i would just like to know if the side extension for the vermont would fit the tent as i keep thinking about getting one. Also does anyone know if any of the outwell carpets would fit??

Yes, the Vermont side extension will fit the Montana 12 without any problem and is effectively a perfect fit.
Yes, the Vermont XL carpet will fit the Montana 12 but is manufactured with a rather odd looking hole to give access to the anchoring point for the Vermont's extra bedroom/storage room. In use, you'd hardly notice the hole is there and, so far, no-ones tripped up on it.
