I have a 3 year old gelert horizon 8 which I used for the first time this month.  Can anyone tell me the best way to fold it up to get it back in the bag.  I've tried all sorts of ways but it doesn't want to go!

Very similar to our Ontario 8.

We pack ours like this:
* remove all poles
* stand 1 person at each end of the tent (top and bottom)
* fold left side of tent over into centre
* fold right side of tent over into centre
* squeeze any excess air out
* fold tent in half down centre (you should be left with a long, thin rectangle)
* fold tent so top end touches bottom end (ie fold in half)
* squeeze out excess air
* fold tent in half again (tent should be a small, fat rectangle now)
* check the tent is now folded smaller than the bag
* roll tent and put in bag

When we've folded the Monty (more or less as above) we roll one of the kids (6 yr old is usually game) from top towards the door to squeeze the air out!!

I use the poles to roll the air of of my tent, as I'm rolling it from the rear of the tent towards the front door (that I leave partially open so air can get out). I'm hoping you remove the kid before you put the tent in the bag lol.

So that's why it doesn't fit in the bag!! Does make for a quieter journey home though.

We do have a large east european community round here - would you say they work better than children then?
