hi all this is all new to me so here goes, i have a michigan xl i want a canopy for it can anybody tell me where or what substitute will fit this tent? also weather the new 2011 range will have a canopy to fit this 2010 model?

The extension was in short supply this year, I got a 2010 to fit my 2009 tent and fit is great. Ebay prices were more than the mist price. I'd be surprised if you can find one for sale. Apparently the XL is being modified for next year but the L is still in the range, the same extension fits the L and XL so I guess next years one will fit yours.
thankyou for the reply i hope i can get one it would make a lot more living space when is normally the release date for these things? as i said before this tent is new i bought it for next years holidays so camping here we come.

I also bought a Michigan XL at the end of last year (2010) for use this year. I couldn't get a front extension and was advised by my Outwell dealer that it would be after March 2011 before new stocks arrive. Trawling the internet recently, I reckon June time is roughly when they'll be in stock.

I bought a 2011 extension at last for my 2010 tent from Taunton Leisure. The extension supposedly clips onto the metal poles of the tent, but the clips are far too small to fit the metal tent poles. I contacted Outwell via e-mail and the short version of their reply was that they can't help. So much for customer service!
I reckon that if I get some proper sized clips, I'll be able to swap them over when I next camp in July. I also noted that there were straps between the extension legs to aid spacing, but there is no groundsheet covering the front one. I'm planning on cutting it and attaching a clip that can be undone when it's all been pitched.
