Hi there, Im new to the forum and im new to camping. Trying to get set up with some equipment, I need a 2 man tent even tho i will most be alone, lightweight for backpacking, use in uk in sprin, summer and autumn.

The 2 I am currently considering are Vango spirit 200 and Robens Voyager 2. Can anyone recommend either of these tents from personal expierience.

I will require a sleeping bag also, dont know whether to go for down or synthetic, max i would like to spend is £75-100. I will need a mat also, thinking self inflating type. Can anyone give any advice?
Thanks for any help and Hello to all again.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Sorry, my knowledge of the 2 tents you mention is pretty skant, though I bought an Avior X2 in last years sales which has proven good.

Anyway....

Apologies if im teaching you to suck eggs at it were here, but remember that although down bags have benefits, they can be difficult/ expensive to clean; as importantly they lose most of their insulation properties once wet. Something a synthetic one doesn't do. Might be a consideration.

For both down bags (and synth), self inflating mats etc. Google a company called Alpkit. They do some very competent and well priced kit. Nice guys to deal with too.

No, I dont work for them! I do own at least 3 products made by them though for the reasons above.

On a side note, I think there is a hiking/ lightweight specific subforum on here where you might get more indepth replies?

EDIT: Yep, might be worth a post here too.
