Outwell - Missouri River 4; Trout Lake 4; Yukon River 4; Lanai Reef for short stay tent.

I like the big windows in the Missouri River, but it has no rain protector door.

I like the rain protector door in the Trout Lake but it has small windows.

I  like the Yukon River 4, has both large front window and side protector.

I like the new Lanai Reef but has no side door.

As our short stays will often be early and late season having less doors means less draft, but negative if it's raining no side entry.

Having said that we won't go short stay if the weather forecast is for rain.

Is the Trout Lake a better all season quality?

What is the difference in quality between the green, brown and orange range.

Price is not an issue. Just want one that will be warm and sturdy from March to Novemeber.

All opinions will be thoroughly considered and investigated.

Hi have you looked at th bear lake 4 this has 2 doors down the sides and a front door with canopy to give shelter, i'm probuably biased towards the BL as we own both the 4 and 6 version and use the 4 for shorter stops when we take less.

These are great tents being made of pollycotten

How long does it take to set up? Just to final peg going in? OH has a frozen shoulder and so it's the pegging and guying that takes the time.

Dont know exact time really, problem is from 1 pitch to the next we always end up doing it different ways ( would probably guess at around 1 hour ). But they are quite heavy to lug about with the heavy groundsheet and pollycotten flysheet.

Great tent once up though warm not to drafty , used with ehu and heater its very cosy

Hi the bear lake 4 is a very good tent and will stand up to very strong winds and the quality is very good ! It shouldn't take more than an hour to pitch first time and after that it should only get quicker and if you leave the groundsheet zipped on it would be even quicker . I would pitch it as follows peg the four corner of the flysheet making sure it's tight and square then slide the first pole in ( not the front canopy one the next one down ) then get the guys out to keep the front pole upright then work your way down the ten pole by pole ! Easy then zip groundsheet on peg and guy job done oh and a tip the side strengthen bars have a spring but on which can easily catch on the mess sleeve so make sure they are facing the inside don't want to rip your new tent ! Your advice to leave the ground sheet  zipped in would make this tent to heavy to pack away plus it comes in 2 bags anyway one containing the pollycotten flysheet and bedroom inners the other contains the poles and ZIG!!

Not argueing with you as i have never tried leaving the groundsheet zipped in "just a bit confused"
