I'm thinking of buying the side awning for our Vermont XL for when we take the whole family away for the summer hols.  I've looked at all the info on line but I would really like to see it pitched if possible.  I have phoned so many places trying to find out if anybody has one pitched for me to look at.  Go Outdoors aren't pitching the Vermont XL at all this year apparantly and Yeomans aren't pitching any of their big tents until May.

Does anybody know of anywhere that has a Vermont XL pitched with a side awning?  Just thought I would ask on the off chance.  Doesn't really matter where it is as we can always arrange a weekend camp to go and see it.  I just don't want to spend all that money if it's not what we want.  Any help or ideas of places to try would be greatly appreciated!

I spoke to a guy at Yeomans today in Northampton they have a delivery of Outwells tents on Tuesday, he showed me the list and Vermont XL was on it, should be up by Wednesday /Thursday if not the weekend at the latest he said, not sure about side canopy, could be worth a call.

Hi
I doubt many retailers will pitch the side extension due to the size of the area taken up when pitching the tent and the side extension. Also the side extension is not a big seller so it would be a waste pitching one. Thats not to say its not a good product but 99% of vermont xl owners find the tent is large enough on its own. If you need the space and you think you wont have any problems with pitch size then just go for it, otherwise you will try and chase down a show extension and never get to see one.
I may be wrong, it has happened in the past.

I agree with Gary Ive never seen a Vermont side extension on display anywhere. We were thinking of buying one for our Vermont L but changed our minds due to the extra width not fitting on a standard pitch
