We have just returned from our first camping trip of the year, which was almost a disaster.
We borrowed a Wynnster Monmouth 9 tent, which had only been used once previously in good weather. For our two nights it rained, rained and rained along with pretty gusty winds. The tent stood up to the wind well, but when we climbed out of our pods in the morning it resembled a swimming pool inside, it seemed to be leaking around all the seam points and along the base of the doors, we are also pretty sure that a few of the panels were leaking also (too much water to be condensation).
Our own tent is an old Wynnster Satelite 4, which does not have a sewn in ground sheet, and we never had an issues with leaks, (possibly because all the water leaked out before hitting the groundsheet?)
So campers, we are now looking for a tent that would be suitable for 2 adults and one teenager, preferably with the sleeping pods being separate or vis-a-vis style, can you still buy good quality tents without a sewn-in-groundsheet, or did we just have bad luck with the borrowed tent?
All advise would be welcome.
