Can anyone tell me : Does the Mackenzie Cabin 6 have rain hoods on both doors ? I can't seem to find any photo's of the other side of this tent. Google or otherwise.

There's a review here that says both doors have hoods - There are a few reviews of the tent in the 'Tent Review' section so hopefully someone who actually has the tent will be along shortly!
Edit
I see that herby59 has confirmed there's only one - So ignore the above! It does seem that, for such expensive items, tent are generally very poorly/ambigously described. For example, from the Coleman website:
"The Mackenzie Cabin features a rain protection peak over the side door; pole-tensioned fabric provides a porch area over the doors to prevent rain from entering the tent on entry and exit."
The first sentence mentions 'door' but the second says 'doors' so even the manufacturer doesn't make it clear!
Found what may be a useful Youtube Video of it - which does seem to indicate that there is only 1 porch rain extension - seems that's Coleman's way as I have a Coastline 6 with the same set-up on 1 door only...
Thanks all. I have already looked atthe youtube one before I 'posted' but it's not clear even on that. I will assume theres only the 1 hood as per comments above. I am getting a super deal on the tent due to suppliers mistake on another order, they offered upgrade to the cabin 6. I took them up on the offer , so will see when it arrives. Once again ... thanks all.

HI, just put ours up today to see if all the bits are there. The rain hood is over just one door. Also for the self rolling windows, look in the bottom of the bag for the repair kit. The plastic strips are in it.
The repair kit is buttoned to the bottom of the bag.
Very surprised at how quick to get the basic tent up... took us fifteen minutes...yee haa for colour coded poles and sleeves.
Does it really matter that much if only one door has a rain hood just use that one when its raining

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again

Hi, arsenaldes.... well , I think it does matter if you have the side extension. If the hood were on both sides , you could fit the extension on either side , giving 'choices'. Being able to choose which side is handy when you first pitch , relative to where the sun will be , privacy , prevailing wind direction, or another family tent or even where the main bedroom end will be relative to early morning sunshine etc. Having been camping for more than 40 years I prefer to sleep at the shady side of the tent * if possible * . I prefer my main door to be pointing north * if possible * OK , I know some campers arn't bothered at all. I have seen them before that pitch any way round , whatever way it goes up , that how they put it ! We had lots of ammusement watching a new-to-camping couple who pitched their tent very close to another tent , leaving the only space left for their car at the back of their tent. They spent a whole 2 weeks walking all the way round their tent and windbreak to and from the car. They only had a small tent so kept a lot of stuff in the car. Anyway ... back on subject ... It seems the 'stock' photo's always show the side extension over the left door and I think thats the one with the rain hood. I don't know YET if the side extension can be fitted over the other door ( non-hood side ). I will try it and see when it all arrives after Easter. For ... trevor1578... thanks for those tips ... It's appreciated.

I have had the Mackenzie Cabin 6 for a year now...... I can confirm that the Rain cover is only over one door and that the side extension can fit over either door. Generally, we pitch with rain cover facing forward with the extension over this door. This is partly due to the cable hole for the EHU being on the non covered door side. However, there is nothing stopping it being pitched the other way.
Nice photo bigrob73 . Also good information re the rain hood. the tent just 'stands well", and they always say " if it looks right , then it more than likely is right" . I aqually ordered a Cabin 4 online after checking with the company that they had some. Just 2 days later , they emailed me to say they had none. Of course I expressed my annoyance , especially since I had phoned first to check ! . Also explained that as they didn't have the side extension I went and ordered that from another company. Now , they couldn't supply the cabin 4 , and since it 'looked' like I might be left with the side canopy and no tent , They kindly offered me a Cabin 6 at no extra charge. Of course I accepted. The orders were placed just before this holiday break so I havn't had delivery yet but am looking forward to pitching in my garden for a try out. We have several tents here , but I wanted the Cabin 4 for a trip to Loire Valley ... site hopping. I am summising the Cabin 6 will do the quick pitch / unpitch just as well as the cabin 4 we inteded to buy + give us that extra space we always prefer. Once again ... thanks for the info.

This tent takes 2 of us about 30 minutes to put up. It get upright and secure within15 minutes, but it takes the rest of the time straightening, pegging guy ropes and tensioning.
It isnt too difficult to pitch on your own, but I will warn you..... the pitching instructions are almost non-existent!
Good luck and enjoy
Rob

I know this is a old thread, but does anyone know if its possible to put 2 awnings on this tent, we have the tent and a awning, but sometimes on longer holidays we need a little bit more space and a extra awning would be perfect!
