Hi everyone,

I've seen an Outwell Hartford L tent (2010) for £300 which I think is a bit of a bargain. I'm probably going to be getting all of the extras as well (footprint, carpet and porch extension). Could anyone tell me if all of the 2008 - 2011 versions of these extras will fit the 2010 model?

Also, I plan to use a particularly deep double airbed (between 25cm and 50cm deep) in the bedroom and wondered if anyone could tell me if this would be an issue with the sloping ceiling?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Cheers.

Hi Dave,

We've got an Outwell Hartford L, think it's the 2008 edition.
Just thinking about your double airbed. Have you checked the width of it, because we couldn't get ours in, have to use 2 singles.
Sorry can't help with the other details. Lovely cosy tent tho, easy to put up and down, excellent in a headwind

Two things spring to mind about the Hartfords

1 Its a large footprint tent so may be worth checking with some campsites that you intend to visit to make sure they have a pitch big enough for it.

2. In the bedrooms you sleep across the doorway so if the person furthest from the door wants to get out they have to climb over the person nearest the door

-------------
Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again

Hi,

Thanks for the info and responses so far.

DawnP are you sure yours is the 2008 version? Because I think from 2008 onwards the bedrooms were 3 berth, so it would be a bit strange if a double airbed wouldn't fit in.

Arsenaldes, the two main sites I intend to to visit are more like 'pick a spot in a field type' rather than being allocated a specific pitch. I'm aware of the sleeping across the door issue, and though it's not ideal I think I could live with that.

Perhaps you could suggest something better. I'm looking for a six berth tent which has a seperate porch in addition to a spacious 'living area', I like the idea of bedrooms which aren't necessarily connected. I've not seen much that fits the bill for a similar price to the Hartford L I've seen for £300. One I have seen is the Vango Kasari 600, but that's more expensive and doesn't seem to have as large a living area as the Outwell.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks.

Dave, if you search through the private ads on this site you'll see I am selling a 2010 model with footprint and extension at a price you might like. It's been on for a while and will probably have slipped quie far down the order. It's either under my camdm025 profile for use at work or my home profile which is simply my name David Mclauchlan. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll send you a link to the preloved ad I have that has some photos as well
