Hi, looking at the option of adding some extra living/cooking space to our Nevada M rather than buying another tent. Tried to buy an Outwell Oklahoma last year, just as everywhere went out of stock. Considering again this year, but now aware of the pop-up Quechuas. The price of the base XL and the Outwell is pretty much the same, but I'm concerned that the XL would be just a big TOO big to fit on a standard pitch along with the Nevada. The smaller 'base' might be too SMALL...
Anyone got any, or seen any in action? Would the base fit two little tables and five chairs? Will be marking out the dimensions in string in the garden later !
Right, was a bit hasty with this post! Have been playing on the patio with my daughters' chalk and come to some conclusions:
I don't have space to draw the outline of a Quechua base XL, therefore it is too big.
The Quechua base will fit my Outwell cupboard, two tables and one chair. It will only fit 5 chairs if everything else is out, which is a bit beside the point as the main thing is to get cooking relocated to free up tent living space. If we put in the two tables and don't bother unpacking the food and pans from their boxes, then we can use the cupboard in the main tent for clothes, and have space for all of our chairs with a bit more room to breathe (and play with toys).
The Outwell Oklahoma will take two tables and the 5 chairs, meaning that all the kitchen stuff and food would either be in the main tent or in boxes under the tables.
Bother, didn't draw out the coolbox, but I'm sure it would squeeze in.
I have the Oklahoma bought in UK (impossible to get in Spain). We had the chance to get the Decathlon pop-up here at more or less the same price. So glad we went for Outwell. Really nothing to do. The Quechua is much more flimsy, less quality. The Oklahoma has much more quality details, it is much sturdier and also nicer : )
If you need extra space, you always can get a tarp to add to the Oklahoma.

If you wan to see the Base used as a kitchen/ living are there are lots of pics of it both in the Base Seconds 4.2 Tent Reviews section (attached to said tent) and in the Base Seconds reviews itself.
A lot of people use the various types of Base Seconds as kitchen/ living area tents.
P.S. If you want a carpet for it, the Coleman Universal Carpet (about £25) fits the standard Base Seconds pretty much spot on.

Planned for next year, hopefully!
Summer Solstice wild camp.
Chilled in a Field, July.
Crantock, August. Fouth year with the fantastic Quechua Base Seconds 4.2!
..... and the odd night wild camping in my Argos 1 man tent...
Thanks guys, we did actually get the Oklahoma in the end, but still not sure if we made the right decision - there are quite a few things that could be improved about it. Busy writing tent and site reviews now!
Sullivan, may I ask you what are you unhappy about the Oklahoma.
In fact we experienced the first rains which weren't too heavy )it's Spain!) and water started dripping in on the part of the top of the tent where the electrical cord system is.. Hopefully Yeomann's (where I bought the tent) will send us some waterproof spray. Anyway we felt a bit disppointed with this fact.
Also, after several days of trial we noticed that it is very difficult to have the tent well built. The 4 tension corners of the tent are too tensioned and we are worried that in s short time the material can be torn apart.
Nevertheless I still think that all the features in the Outwell Oklahoma are much over the Quechua tent.

Hi Bermax, sounds like you might have a faulty one. No problem with tensioning and it withstood three days of downpours, thunder and general wetness without any problems.
I'd like a ZIG to stop the bugs getting in and a couple of vents to help with ventilation when it's raining, otherwise very happy.
