Done it! Went out last night and tried it out. It was a bit drizzly when we got there so i didn't spend much time on it and ended up with guy lines in every direction! I like to have them all uniform and in more or less the same direction so there's a clear path in and out. Also, i added a couple of extra guys myself using cling-ons so that made it untidy too. I also took my own poles as the ones supplied are short but i ended up taking a section of the poles out as it was too high compared to the height of the tent so the ones supplied will suffice for the future.... here's the pics...

Well Done You! the photos are brilliant, it now gives me an idea how to put the tarp over my evo 600. Now the next question, (seeing as you have done a good job) how do i put a blooming mosi net ever the doors. Ive been to tent repairers in bolton today with tent, zip and mosi netting as requested by the owner, only to be told they cant do it. As you know the door is a D shape so cant put velcro on because io wont go all the way round.
Thanks for the compliment but i've already thought about how i would do things differently, like maybe having the tarp upside down as i could fasten the guy rope in the middle to the tent, where there's a space where the two poles cross over - prevent it billowing up when the breeze gets underneath.....
Not sure about the mozzi net issue. I sat and looked at the doors thinking the same thing while we were away. Sorry, can't help on that one.

I know its not as good as a sewn in version, but for times when a flymesh is imperative why not use pegs/plastic bulldog type clips and clip flymesh up the vertical pole by the side of the door, along the pole above the door and then either sew some elastic or use a grip clip/holdon plus a tent elastic and peg the flymesh down at the other side of the door. If needed you could peg along the open side of the door and along the bottom, but the tension and slope of the tent will probably prevent a too big a gap anyway. You just unclip at the pegging point to go in or out. It won't keep all the bugs out, but will close off 95 plus % of the door opening.
We use a sheet of flymesh bounded with binding tape and some women's suspender clips to hang flymesh over the rear door of our inner tent when needed, which is a similar principle to what I've described above.
------------- Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!
Yes thats a good idea too speedcam. i keep trying to get the netting on the inside, but to save all the sewing i will have to do maybe just clipping it to the outer poles will do the trick. Watching the weather for this friday, sat or sun and we are trying all idea and tips along with the tarp. It will be a shame to pull it all down again lol. Lidl have mesh that opens in the middle for a door etc on sale on thur, so i will take a look at that.

getting someone to do the mosi netting is a challenge, it would take someone with vision and the confidence not to ruin the tent. i think that risk may have been to great for the repairers.
If i was due a new tent then i might try it out on my evo 400, that way if it went wrong it wouldn't matter.
I think this is how it would need to be done:
All it would take is netting the same shape as the door. with zips in the same places. sew the straight side into the door seam and then attach the zip either to the outer side seam of the door zip or just above that (adding seam tape to all sewing of course) it would mean you would have to unzip the net to open the door, but once the doors open you can zip the net back up.
There's probably a bit more work needed on that to allow for Zip access and door tie back toggles, but just by visualisation i think it would work.
Although using a big sheet of mesh between the 2 poles is a good, easier, idea.
