Anyone had any issues when camping with this size tent i.e pitches not big enough, owners wanting to charge more because of the size. I am asking because we have been given the chance to get one dirt cheap with everything but wondered if it was worth the hassle. We currently have a zenobia 6 which we have been using the last 3 seasons

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes

New! Please upload a photo of your tent to the Tent Showcase!

Tents over 5m wide or those that are X or Y shaped appear to have slightly more problems as thay have a much larger footprint than tunnel tents.

There are sites that will accpet very large units (often for a small premium) but you may find your choice is more limited.

The Kalahari 10 measures 710cm x 375cm which is actually slightly smaller than my Ontario 8 (7.5m x 3.7m) and we have never had any problems being accepted on a site or been charged for 2 pitches.
