We have the pacific. Great tent and the poles are really light compared with the normal cabanon poles. The space is great for two people if you don't need a gin palace.
I love Cabanon and have several of their tents.
The only problem with Cabanon when camping in Scotland is there is not much in the way of midge protection.
Cabanon Pacific every time! Strong, calm, steady and v light and easy to put up solo. We've had some quite windy conditions on the campsite recently and I know the Pacific would have been fine but the nylon standing height tunnel tents have been bucking and dancing all over the place.

You are making me jealous Merry. Isn't it about time you changed your Pacific for something else?, you can easily get bored when you hang onto a tent for too long you know!

Hi. I think the thing with Pacifics is that, although they aren't the prettiest tent in the world, they are comfortable, practical and so easy to put up and down. Plus ... they take up a lot less space to store than many similar sized or canvas tents. So people might tend to hold onto them longer because even if they aren't being used much they aren't taking up a lot of storage space at home.
As you know, my tents are all 'resting' this year while I'm in the van, but I am wondering if I could fit in one or two days away in a tent at some point. Well, I've started making lists of what I would need for a really minimal trip
