Hi there, me and my partner recently went camping overnight in a Blacks Octane 2 tent. This was my first time camping. I found the tent compact, and unable to sit up in which didn't help when the weather turned for the worse on the morning. Can anybody suggest a good, reasonably priced 3-4 man tent which has a decent sized bedroom area and storage area for sitting in on those wet, miserable days. I've spotted a Coleman Coastline 3plus tent which i thought looked reasonable?
Thanks

hi debbie, sure you will get lots of help and advise on the thread, vango do an icarus 300 and 400 style tent which is very simple to put up and well priced they are bothed reviwed in the tent section, hope you find somthing that suits.
i would go for the vango icarus 500, you can stand up in it very comfortable, and if you find a good stockist go and have a look around the tents, some shops have a few displayed for you to walk in and have a good feel to see what you would prefer. Its good your doing research, then you know exactly what your buying.
Easy Camp Licata 400 would be ideal. Very quick and easy to pitch, large bedroom pod which can be divided and spacious living area. It has standing height throughout, SIG, massive windows let in loads of light and it has good ventilation.
Outdoor Action sell them for £89.95 - a lot of good quality tent for the money (Easy Camp are made by Outwell)

You don't mention what your budget is. If you're looking for a tent with a sleeping area and a storage/sitting area then you're really looking at a three pole tunnel tent. There are some, like the Vango Beta 450, which are tall enough to enable you to sit in a camping chair without touching the top, but not stand up height. Most manufacturers do something in that style, but I have only found two that have a proper sewn in groundsheet in the living area rather than a groundsheet with a gap along the bottom (like the Vango Beta or the Coleman one).
The Vango Icarus and the Easycamp Licata are the two that have 'SIG' and to be honest with the Icarus you have to go to the 500 size to be able to stand up. The Easycamp Licata 300 and 400 are both stand up height but you really need to go to the 400 size to seat more than one person.
A SIG is very important to my mind especially in bad weather, it really does cut out the drafts and stop the tent from billowing. I wouldn't consider a tent without one.
