just a quick thought, as a newbie, the monty now comes with metal pegs, i think, and just wondered are these classed as rock peg style, thanks

hi, no they are just half decent corner pegs for the monty, rock pegs are usually about 6mm dia pointed steel with a plastic part for the guy, they look like a very large nail and are actually very good and fairly cheap

I would definitely suggest you buy some of the rock pegs (or more metal ones). we had our 1st trip with a montana last week. The ground was so dry and hard the plastic pegs would not go in - the more i hammered the more they bent! Bought some rock pegs from the shop ( basically a 9" nail with a plastic bit) and they were great.
One more piece of advice - i needed a to borrow a claw hammer to get them back out again...
