Hi , new to camping and have just bought a 2nd hand tent ( as above ) . i think it is a 2007-8 model but it came with no instructions ! I've tried on-line to find instructions but to no avail , please can anyone help ?

Try going to the SunnCamp website where there are all Instruction manual PDF's available for download. There is one there for the Family Vario 400/600/600+, although yours is a 500 this will still help with your 5 berth although your tent will not feature the front or side canopies shown.
There was a Front Canopy made for this model (Roof Only, no sides) but as this maodel has not been made since 2006 this is no longer available. The SunnCamp Verano Sun Canopy (In grey only) or Verano DL Extension (Option of grey/grey or blue/grey) would however fit on the side of your tent and be a reasonable colour match.
