My son has just got one off the bay.

So far as I know, you need to pitch inner first.  A couple of spacers go on the spikes on the poles. Then the outer (fly) goes on.

If that doesn't answer your question let me know and I'll ask him for the definitive answer.  Have you got 'A'  or straight poles?
