Am narrowing down my tent choice for the weekend tent. What I really need to know as my spacial awareness is rubbish, is, just how much larger is the Barbados relative to the Guadeloupe? I have looked at all the dimensions and know the weights etc.
What sort of space does the Barbados occupy when packed down?
I am leaning towards the Barbados as I think it will give me greater flexibility and as a family of 4 we could use it together whereas I think the Guad will be too small for that.
I am imagining it peeing down and us all huddled in the Guadeloupe...
Conversely I am concerned that the Barbados will be too big and won't be significantly smaller in pack size or ease of erection/striking to my Biscaya 440.
Aaghh! And there is the cost.

We've had both. There isn't significant pack size difference, although the Barbados is heavier of course because of the inner tent and the fact that it's a bit bigger tent.
The main difference (apart from the inner) is that the Barbados is more square at the back than the Guadeloupe, giving more usable space. There is also the dividing curtain in the inner, which might be useful if using with kids. Also, the extra width of the Barbados makes a better porch area if the front panels are added.
Four of you will find the Guadeloupe a real squash, it's really more of a tent for two (or with little ones for a weekend) I think.
Still waiting for my Guad to arrive grumpy. Yet more delays grrr but I think the other postings are dead right. 2 in a Guad is fine but 4 really would be pushing it.
9iron - can't believe you haven't got your Guad yet - they must have had to order direct form Cabanon.
I phoned Casey's in Chester and Attwools yesterday who both had Guads in stock. Think you are right that the Barbados is the one, but, rare as Hens Teeth in the retailers. Even more scarce 2nd hand.
Guess you will be in the plastic fantastic this weekend then - weather looks OK.
We just brought one (from Attwolls, they have them up on show) there are 3 of us, I'm bit worried about the size as we are used to bigger, but it is so easy to put up, it will make up for the smaller size! I brought it home and put it up on my own, it was fab, and believe me we have tried it all before
The pack size is still quite big, but once you separate the poles, it makes it easier. We mostly camp in France anyway, so spend lots of time outside, I'm also planning on using a gazebo for eating under.
9iron - I would cancel your order, you will get your tent straight away then, also cheaper didn't you say? Its ment to be nice this weekend, your missing out

Oh no 9iron I can't believe you've not got it, it's been ages....
Just to throw the spanner in the works, for original OP what about the Palamos 6from Obelink, click on picture to get sizes.
Good price compared to the barbados, although I think it's a little bigger, you can move the front panel back so you have sunshade or to the front for miserable days.
I'm looking at the eldorado, which should come in stock soon with obelink, but I think that would be too small, also it's not got a SIG like the others.
I have a barabados and a biscaya 370, pack size is smaller for barbados and I can lift it, can't do that with biscaya. barbados pole bag takes up much less space and barbados is all in one bag as ground sheet is sewn in. two of us are very comfortable space wise, as others have said guadelope would be too small for 4.
Done it - ordered a Barbados from Attwools and it will be with me on Monday. It was their last one, the guy I spoke with reckons it is their best seller this year and he can't get hold of any more.
Will, of course, post pictures when it arrives and is up in the garden.
