Another reason there are a lot of posts about carpets is that people either dont want to or cant afford the carpet for their particular tent and are looking for a cheaper alternative

I ended up spending almost the full cost on a 'cheap' alternative, they don't seem so expensive after all. I'm happy the way I did it as I have a more flexible solution now even if it isn't quite as professional.

Lol, no not yet Savanne, but been busy buying loads of other stuff!
I think the carpets are really over priced, they are really just a big picnic rug, I'm going to have a look round, see what I can find, don't fancy paying £50/60 for one!
Which one did you buy to fit the living area of your Barbados?
I bought a Gelert Seabury 8 tent carpet last week for £9.99 when we were on holiday in Snowdonia as the tent is now discontinued. It measures 370cm by 430cm and even came in a carrybag with doormat. Really pleased with it and will go well in my bell tent. Also bought a couple of Royal Denver carpets for my Gelert Stratus from campervan accessories for under £20 which are a pretty good fit. If you shop around you can pick up some good bargains and save yourself a fortune.

at john dev - you can buy a carpet for any room, caravan, car, truck, bus, train, shop, apartment, hotel, cruise liner in the world!
you just need to do a bit of research and put some work and thought into it!
1/ measure the size of your orchy bedroom.
2/ look at tents on the review section on here and look for a tent which has a living area that is similiar size or a slight bit smaller than your bedroom area dimensions.
3/ lookup that tents manufacturer website and see if a tent carpet is produced for it.
4/ if it is, have a look on ebay, gumtree and camping equipment retailers websites for that tent carpet.
5/ take your credit card out your wallet and proceed to the checkout.
6/ once payment is received you will soon have a nice warm carpet in your tent bedroom!
i bought a carpet for the larger bedroom of my bear lake6 - following the above process i found the oakland M carpet fits the bear lake 6 larger bedroom perfecly.

I have had extra large picnic rugs for last few years as I also think the carpets are a ridiculous price. But, they are starting to look shabby now and have been washed and washed. I actually paid £5 each in Aldi for them few years ago and they have been great!
Anyway been struggling to renew them this season so just looked around for other make carpet/rugs, I like them in bedrooms pods too. So have just purchased really good quality, Easycamp large camping rug for bedroom area , ( must have purchased last one cos wanted another and none to get anywhere ) and today my Coleman carpet arrived for living area . Both only slightly smaller than living / bedroom areas but will look great. Both under half the price of the price of the carpet for my tent and better quality. Both from Amazon and in green colours which match tent. So just look around, my advice
