Just picked up my brand new Vango Icarus 500, yesterday.
We have a Kampa Pendine 8 for family week trips, but needed smaller for weekender, bought from Gumtree and with a bit of bartering I got it for £100, it's never been out the bag.
Pitched it yesterday for a garden camp and delighted with it.
Only thing I struggled to get the last ring and pin in, had to get OH to do it for me, anyone any tips on pitching, we put all poles in, then started from back ring and pinning, then lifted from back. all door were open.
But very happy with it and looking forward to anothers night garden camping in it.

I have a 2010 model, and I've never found the lantern hook. Oh well not the end of the world. I have looked and looked, even after seeking advice here and I have concluded that they forgot to sew one in on my tent.
We took ours out for it's maiden camp a couple of weeks ago and are really happy with it. We got it to use for short weekend camps and found it ideal, only took about 20 minutes to get up and finished, far better than our Maryland which takes about an hour.We might also get the canopy to give us a bit more room at some stage.
Ours is the new 2011 Surf Blue model and there is no lantern hook on ours either.

Hi, mine is a 2011 and has a lantern hook above the storage pockets, however my sisters is a 2010 and does not have one. Just a word of advice re:pitching. doors closed while pitching else you put pressure on the zips, seams etc
I was going to say nearly the same thing except doors open while lifting the tent to let the air in then close all the doors prior to pegging out
------------- Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
I took it down the next night and put it up again myself with no problems, I wouldn't be beaten.
Really chuffed with it although I'll probably not use it til next year, as it's all family trips I've got planned and we'll take the big tent for that.
