We have this year purchased a Vango Icarus 500, to use as our "Weekend tent" (we have a Montana as our "main tent"). We are thinking about maybe next year, if not before, doing a long camping trip, and moving on to a few different sites. We want to do this with the "weekend" tent as it is much easier and quicker to put up and down.
We dont really want to start buying extensions for the icarus and have thought about a small utility tent to use as a cooking/storage area, to keep the tent less cluttered on longer stays.
Does anyone have any recommendations or ideas what we could use. Some of the "bigger" day tents, are a bit big for what we want, and a bit pricey too. We have seen at our local camping shop a "toilet" tent, which we think might be ideal?? and is very reasonably priced. But as it is quite tall, I am worried about it standing up to any kind of wind??
All ideas/suggestions/comments welcome!!

we started off with the outdoor revolution outhouse xl which we found to be an easy to erect utilty tent however I recently bought the Quecha Base Seconds as I'd bought another kitchen unit and I find that the plus for this as a utility was that there is more space so if it's raining when cooking both hubby and I can be in this tent without getting wet. The eyebrow canopies also mean that we can have the door open even when it's raining whereas with the outhouse we'd have to shut the door.

I've always checked the status regarding pup tents when I book and when I check in to a site and I make sure I say that nobody will be sleeping in the small tent. So far no site has had an issue with it, although a Forest Holidays site did specify it had to be a certain distance away from the main tent, and I have never been charged extra.
We don't have a massive tent, so it's nice not to have all the cooking equipment, food, etc. cluttering the porch of the main tent.
Go for the Quecha, it's brilliant. We took it to Scotland in all the rain and gales during the end of May, it stood up really well, no leaks or anything - I love it, and then there is always the entertainment value of getting it back down again
We use a Cabanon PN20 utility tent, it's quite samall for a kitchen tent, but suits us fine, very strong little tent, being of heavy "Cotton" for the walls and quite a thick laminated roof, it uses 13mm steel poles, photo in my gallery.
Despite it's heavy build quality, it packs to a remarkably small size, they often pop on Ebay, and can also be found under Archery Tents, as they tend to be quite popular in that sport.
