We have a Tentipi Safir 9 tipi tent which we have been delighted with (after an initial swap due to a fault!).
However, the one thing that it really needs is a porch. I have tried lots of different approaches from using a sail to a square tarp, but none of them do the job well enough, or look the part along with the elegant lines of the tentipi!
Have seen that one but I already have an obelink tarp so planning to use that attached to an awning/ratchet strap passed though the loop at the apex of the tipi and then guy the king poles to support the other end of the tarp. Haven't been away for a long enough trip in the tentipi that warranted trying it out so at the moment it is all conjecture.
Does the Tentipi really need a porch ? Id rather keep a tarp separate so if the weather turns windy your not affecting the hundreds of year old wind stable design of the Tipi .
I would have thought a more simple tarp and pole arrangement like those for bell tents would look right, but I appreciate the challenge of securing the end that sits against the tent entrance.
