Recently bought Vango Icarus 500 (2011 model) want to buy poles for front porch. Shop salesman said I should purchase 210cm poles and not 180cm. Anyone any idea which would be right size?

If it is only to hoist the front door up to form a canopy then it wont matter. For the sake of 300mm go for the longer pole, then if you feel the angle of the porch is too high at the front, you can always pitch the poles at an inward angle to reduce the height?------------- Jim

I use adjustable poles on my 600 front canopy. They double up as tarp poles as well.------------- Regards,

Just a note if the poles are longer than your door is high then if it rains with the door up water will run back towards the tent if they are shorter the water will run off towards the front------------- Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

We use the 180cm ones that we had left over from our Vango Venture and they work fine on the Icarus------------- Eliza D
