I have a Vango Vail 500.
The two zips on the side doors become wet in heavy rain and eventually drip water on to the floor. The zips appear to be in good condition. The overlap cover of each zip and adjoining seems appear to be keeping out the rain.
Has this happened to you and if so, did you work out what was causing the problem?
What did you do to prevent the zips absorbing water?
Many thanks.

I have not known this problem but you could try spraying the outside of the zip with a waterproofer of some sort...maybe the silicone stuff you spray suede shoes with.

When you are inside the tent and have closed the zip, is the covering flap on the outside of the zip closed over or does it remain open? You may have to make sure it is covering the zip properly.

Try spraying them with "Fabsil" or a similar product

Many thanks to "Bob61" and "arsenaldes".
I will try this as soon as the next spell of fine weather shows itself.

We kept a piece of candle with us when we had a frame tent as that zip let in water ,that is we thought it was the zip. I

It turned out the be the stitching of the zip.

As it was proofed BEFORE the tent had been finished (they had dunked the whole tent in the proofing)  Then sewing the zip in the stitches were not proofed. They let in water around the zip.

Something simple yet stupid. Because we had just got it we had it swopped but we still kept a piece of candle to run down the zip inside & outside, as wax does not let in water. We have also used the candle running down the seams as it happened the same way in another tent this time they had dunk the whole lot of the canvas in proofing before they cut and sewed the tent so every hole let in water. They needed telling also what they had done. Must of worked as we never had another like it. But then maybe it has returned their way of making them. Proofing material before making article makes unproofed  stitching holes=logic. Mine

Thanks "Beanpark".
I swear by candle grease for all odd do it yourself tasks but did not think to apply the idea to a tent.
