We have been looking at the Gelert Horizon 6 TC (polycotton) and the Coleman Mackenzie Cabin 6. Does anyone have any tips/experiences with either of these tents.
It is important for us that the tent is robust and durable - we currently have a Vango and have replaced many of the poles over the last two years. This is why we are looking at tents with aluminium or steel poles.
We have spent quite a lot of time researching our new tent and know that we want a tunnel design. But now we can't decide which one of these two will keep us camping for the next few years.
Many thanks

I dont think these two are really comparable as its polyester v polycotton and the polycotton should last a lot lot longer as well as being nicer to live in temperature wise. It depends if you can justify spending that amount of money on a Gelert Horizon.

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
The reason we were comparing these two tents is that they are similar in size and have bedrooms at either end of the tunnel shape.
But yes the major difference is the polcotton v polyester. We weren't sure about the extra money for the polycotton. We went to the Camping Centre Exhibition at Wokingham today and took a second look at the Gelert Horizon TC. The price had been reduced so in the end we thought we could justify the extra money. We are really looking forward to our first trip out in this tent next weekend and hope that this tent does live up to our expectations in terms of durability.
The exhibition was great for getting a feel of the different tents but what a large number of tents from which to choose...
We all keep saying go and have a look before you buy as well as try and pitch it before you camp to check it over. It does pay dividends
Glad you got a good deal on it have a good trip and let us all know how it goes
