hi, we v got an outwell nebraska xl and love the space inside as being a T - shape, it gives us 4 separate areas of tent, the large entrance porch, the living area and 2 separate bedrooms at opposite ends of the living area so friends can come too and your not sleeping next to each other through a "canvas wall".
but, on days when we want to stay inside, the living area is very dark with only 2 small windows in the roof. the porch does have windows, so its light and airy, but the main living area in the nebraska is just soooo dark.
so we are thinking of changing to the maryland - but its a slightly bigger tent in all directions ... but it does have windows in the corners of the living room. has anyone else had this kind of experience?
we also like the look of the new outwell tennesse 5 ( not the 6, only the 5 ) but the sleeping area isnt as suitable for us as the vermont or xl tents as the bedrooms are all together, as opposed to separate bedrooms at opposite ends of the tent in the nebraska and maryland tents.
any thoughts?

I hate dark tents too so I know how you feel. Have you had a look at the Kampa Studland 8. 6 bdrooms at one end in 2 seperate pods and a 2 person bedroom at the other which is removable excellent quality as well

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
Hi dbice, I'm also looking at changing tents to the Maryland. I've spent the last couple of days trying to decide between the Royal Pescara (good quality at keen price, vis a vis T shape, with massive porch and good size bedrooms, but no windows in the living area, so quite gloomy/cosy) and the Maryland, which I've now viewed a couple of times, it's huge, great quality, very light & airy but double the price.
The Maryland is noticably brighter, with plenty of windows, also lots of ventilation for hot days. I've also got the tennesse 5 & vermont xl on my list, but like you say bedrooms are together, so if you want space between not ideal.
Not sure if my comments are of any help but I'm really interested to see what other suggestions you get.
hi all thegear, dont buy the royal pescara - if you dont like dark tents, you'll end up like me and needing/wanting to change it!.
i know the maryland is expensive ( so is the tennesse! ) ...but how about getting a used one once the season comes to an end and having it for next year?
theres no point in buying something that you know isnt really suitable for your needs and you end up buying a repalcement. i love the layout of the tennessee 5, but the bedroom setup isnt right for us.
so i think ill wait till the autumn / winter and try to pick up a used/newish maryland and see how we get on with that!.
