There's a design problem with this tent. The eyebrow over the door is about 8-12 in short of the actual tent. Consequently if it the door is opened whilst its's raining, even briefly, the water running from the roof is channelled directly into the tent. I've spoken with Sunncamp and they say they can't do anything as all their tents are made in China.

Has anyone else found a solution to this problem ?

Hi and welcome

A lot of tents have problems with water entering the tent when its raining so you are not alone. If its a real problem for you the only real answer is to buy a canopy to cover the door

Hope this helps

Hi Arsenaldes.

Thanks for the response. The Mercury 400 is an unusual shape which has is a large sloping area just above the door so a lot of water is collected and all channeled directly into the doorway.

The dealer has been helpful and has provided me with a couple of poles so I can try to see if I can support the eyebrow and channel the water flow to the sides of the door.

Its a new design so Sunncamp haven't yet produced a canopy. i've looked on the web and it seems that when they had similar problems with other models they introduced a canopy the following year. I'll wait and hope !

Andy
