Some sites will include your guys when giving pitch sizes but usually it doesn't.
I always find the best thing to do is ring the site directly and give them your tent footprint - then they can ensure they have a suitable sized pitch when you arrive.
It would appear that tents over 5m seem to have more difficulty and less choice of site.
Our Ontario 8 is 7.5m x 3.7m and we have never had a problem getting on a site or been charged extra.
