We have a vango aspen 700, and we absouloutely adore it, us too have had it for 6 years. this summer it was just oh and I and the 2 dogs, as the girls did not want to come with us 16 and 18, just came back and are in the process of looking for a smaller tent as the aspen is too big for us 2, and cannot find 1 as good/nice as the aspen, we are so gonna miss it, so I understand how you feel, but we are still going to keep it just in case they come again, IT,S A HARD TENT TO REPLACE,
There's often little used 700's on ebay, going for not a lot of money. ( I have a 500 ) they would work out a lot cheaper than any newer version. I think people find them a bit daunting to pitch, and end up not using them so just sell them on. My 500 will be up for sale at some time, as I've replaced it with a Cabanon frame tent. I know it's not got the same insect proof netting, or sewn in ground sheet, but I can't have everything.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
