Hi All,

Just been out to look at some tents and have decided that I'm going to go with the Outwell Montana 6.  Checked it out at Go Outdoors vs their clone, the Corado 6, and I think the Outwell is worth the extra.

However, the Hi Gear line do have some very nicely priced accessories: the canopy, the footprint, the carpet.

Has anyone used Hi Gear accessories like this with the Outwell tent successfully?

I'd be particularly interested in whether the canopy fits, for example.  Looks like a good compromise: decent quality tent, save some money where it's less important.

Anyone done this?

Looking at the drawing of that canopy and comparing it to the front of the monty it would probably fit but with a huge drawback. The monty is sloped and the canopy is straight down meaning by the time you butted it up to the roof pole of the monty there would only be about 10cm max sticking past the bottom of the monty.

The carpet would be 60cm short

Hi Jimbob, we do use a Hi-Gear Zenobia porch with our Outwell Nevada xl and its fine. But as its as an old Nevada it goes on the side, not the front. I know it's no real help to your problem regarding the sloping front but it's sort of an answer to your are they any good question. Hope it helps a little bit

You wont get any additional usable space with the Corado canopy on a Monty as the sloping front will take up most of the canopy so it will only serve as a rain shild for the front door. Take a deep breath and buy the Monty extension
