Well our vermont xl arrived today, and as the weather was nice we decided to attempt to pitch it for the forst time before we go away next week. Didnt fancy traveling 5+ hrs to discover a faulty tent or missing parts etc.
Have never pitched an outwell before, our kalahari 10 is really simple to pitch so this had us worried.
Anyway just short off 25mins later we was stood inside having a good look around.
Not sure we pitched it the best/easiest way as we did it the way we saw on outwell put all poles in then walked ad pegged each section, was really heavy. How do you pitch yours??
Got it back down and folded back into its bag on the first attempt too, took just loess than 20mins so very impressed over all.
The tent i love it, cant wait to test it out next week.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
If you put it up inside 25 minutes you have done well for a first attempt.(any attempt come to that)
If you are finding it heavy just do one set of poles at at time.
Peg the rear corners down, then start at the front and work your way to back.Once the front pole is in and stood up,put a guyrope on and then work back.

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
I now peg out the SIG part of the tent (so not the porch) and then insert one set of poles at a time, that way I can easily put it up on my own as the poles stay in position. The porch does need a little help while I get one guy rope pegged, I'm working on that one, I might try pegging out the front corners as well. I discovered this method when trying to put it up in 30mph winds at Easter. As well as being doable on my own in strong wind it means that I can get the tent in exactly the position I want before putting poles in.
