In an ideal world the tent I am looking for would be a 6 man, have 2 bedrooms (vis a vis) and weigh a maximum of less than 20 kilo's as I want to be able to do train journeys with my kids (all teens). It doesn't have to be the latest model but obviously has to have some life left in it.....

Am I asking the impossible?

Not a lot unfortunately lol.....I'm a uni student, hubby just been made redundant so seriously not a lot.  I don't mind waiting and trying to save, cos I love the tent we have, but I know that if we get another year out of it we will be extremely lucky! So any ideas that anyone can give me now means I know how hard I have to save

Buy a 5 mam tent with a sewn in groundsheet like the nevada M and remove the bedrooms as the sewn in groundsheet makes it like 1 big pod anyway!!!

-------------
Its not the size of the tent...its how you pitch it..

How about something like this?

Vango Breakout 600 dlx

I have the 800 dlx version of this, hence why I thought of this one

For £200 you get the tent, carpet and footprint so not a bad buy imo. Hope that helps a little =)

If you don't mind hanging on I bought a brand new Vango Artemis 600 from ebays 'nearly new tents' for £100. It was in February when no one else was really bidding on tents and there were some great bargains. They usually sell the previous years models, some brand new and some just put up for a photo. Might be worth checking if you're still looking then.

Have now taken delivery of a Vango Breakout 600 Dlx (my wonderful friend brought it for us an early Christmas present! She does come to stay with us when camping so I think she has an ulterior motive lol)......first practice pitch was yesterday and it was a dream to pitch. Loads of room for us all.....have to practice getting it back in the bag though

Samantha88.........thank you
