Well, I've gone & done it. Met the lovely people from Karma-and they are lovely! Saved on delivery & they have a 5% discount on at the moment. I saw one of their tents pitched & I'm happy. I have opened my box & all seems to be there, so I'm off to Cornwall for 2 nights tomorrow lunchtime! Not sure if I'm slightly mad to be going but it is so mild still! Will report on the tent's performance when I return.
Nice one! Look forward to seeing plenty of pictures. Weather will be just fine!
No pics yet but thought I'd let you know how the tent got on! Everything just how it should be, cold on Friday night but no worries with our little heater. No leaks, even though it tipped it down on Saturday in the middle of the night. Personally I would recommend the detachable groundsheet as it makes getting it dry at home a lot easier-on the whole, thoroughly recommend Karma Canvas!
As for the weekend-that was great fun too, even all ended up in the sea on Saturday-would have thought it, mid October!
Hi Achy, You could always use a footprint ground sheet and then no probs packing up, I've got a tiny coleman phadX3 and a homemade footprint. I'm looking at a 5m Canvas Cast Bell tent with separate groundsheet and porch/stove But dithering at the mo.

Hi, i've just got the Soulpad 5000 hybrid and im very impressed with the quality !
Were already planning two or three trips over the next couple of months as we have ordered a stove and flue etc from a diferent company.
Was here withing 24hours of ordering.
Just to add to the mycooltent criticism (they're out of business by the way, no website anymore, can't get a copy of the instruction book, not responding to emails etc)
I recently bought one of the buyer beware ones from ebay (so I was warned...). Exactly the same issues the other poster has had - leaking around the a frame door, the skirt which sticks out from the SIG is begging to have water collect on it which would then sit against the canvas (and because the canvas comes right down to ground level if you tuck the skirt under I can't see how the canvas would do anything but then sit against the ground itself).
There was also leakage all around the perimeter in heavy rain (much reduced by ensuring guys were fully stretched and taut). There were no leaks under the main body of the tent, no dripping so the canvas itself is sound, but I think the seems are poor, and the canvas doesn't take well to stretching around the A Frame poles.
I got it at a bargain price, so I'm considering using a tent valet service to stitch the skirt up against the canvas to leave a bathtub effect, and paying for them to redo the seals - if that costs less than £150 and it works, I've broken even vs buying one from belltent.co.uk
But really... I've used belltent.co.uk's tents in the past, and they are awesome in terms of quality. Pay the extra if you buy new, unless you want hassle just to get the thing in working order.
Bit horrid for people who paid the full price on the mycooltent ones
Saying that I had the tarp from them and can't fault it - lot thicker than the obelink one,
As I said before quality on the bells does vary a lot - they all look the same but materials, and quality of workmanship needs to be considered - Made harder by the fact you can't usually view them anywhere

We did pay full price-so thank goodness we got our money back! I agree with dunklezhan, the canvas itself is sound. But ours was clearly a return that was reproofed (in hind sight). I feel for others like us who paid full price but didn't get their money back.
The best thing to do really with any tent is to pay for it with a credit card, or even pay just a small part of it on credit card, so you are covered by the Consumer Credit Act. Even if the supplier goes bust you still get money back from the card company, and even if you only paid a small deposit, so long as the item value is over £100, you get the whole purchase amount back. Even if paying by debit card you can get the card company to issue a chargeback within 180 days of purchase if what you have bought is not fit-for-purpose or of merchantable quality.
Yes, still more than happy with the Karma-really nice people and the tent is just fine. Ask to see it pitched, if you are worried. They were happy to do that for me.

Due to the weather in France this year we ended up unzipping the groundsheet as it was covered in mud (groundsheet was mafted from the previous site) so we could pack it away from the canvas and powerwash it when we got home. After this experience I'm glad that we didn't get the sig as we'd originally planned.
Oh I do hope so, as I have bought one, although, not given it it's maiden voyage yet due to the very unusual cold winter.
