Hi folks,

Anyone know if we can be expecting anything new from the good people at Quechua in the new year?

Ha ha, I'm seriously wanting to go down the Quechua route for next year. I really like the look of the base seconds 4.2 with a base xl attached to the front.

I know the living areas are not SIG but the bedrooms are, to a degree, the OH is concerned it may be too cold for the little folks.

I think it would be very unlikely though that the are going to start making their tents with a SIG

We had a xxl Quechua and great as it was it was draughty without the sig you really can feel the difference when you get a tent with a sig all round.

And that's what makes them the ideal synthetic tent to use in France, in the heat of the summer.

I guess it depends where, and how, you intend using a tent that puts a different slant on which is most ideal.

Decathlon that sell Quechua won't really have tents in stock again until Easter. They are more of a sports equipment/clothes/bike shop than a camping shop anyway. Dunno about the UK shops but the French shops always have erected tents on display inside & outside during spring/summer season.

A new Decathlon is opening in Calais, handy for day trippers although there are already shops in Dunkirk, Boulogne & St Omer.

Hi King Ribena - We have the 4.2 and a standard Base Seconds which we twin together.  It is fab and the two beroom pods have been very cosy.  Haven't noticed the middle living section being drafty, but haven't slept in it.  We use the BS as our kitchen which has really worked great.  We also have another BS which we might attach to give even more room.  We are a family of two adults and daughters of 12 and 8 and we have had plenty of room.

I really like the look of the family 4.2 XL, but don't think the BS fits together with it.

Ali

Hi Ali,

It was the base seconds 4.2 with a base seconds xl I was wondering whether would fit together. The base seconds xl is the hexaganol one.

Cheers

The XXL is a very different style of tent to the Pagoda 4.2 and Family 4.2.

Hi Rob

Yes I'm sure the BS 4.2 (older pagoda style) and the Hexagonal BS XL will twin together well, just like the BS Standard, as the doors look the same/same size.

They are all so quick and easy to put up and take down.

Ali
